There are boxes everywhere in the flat, but thankfully the sunshine and heat are here so we can go wild in the garden whilst mummy and daddy sweat it out doing boring stuff indoors.
Hey mummy, daddy, chillax, have a lolly!
Me n sis do 'the cracker dance' (don't ask) in the garden
After daddy had slogged it out in the tropical heat of the loft on saturday, what better place to go to than the greenhouse-effect surrounds of roller disco in my school hall. It was my first time at a roller disco and whilst I found it quite tricky and got a little upset and couldn't help but tell everyone how much I loved it on the way home.
Easy does it...
And we all congratulated ourselves in the local pub afterwards...
Me, Maddison, Liam and Rosa (who clearly just wanted to go...) at the pub after roller disco
So Tuesday is the big day, but we are well aware it could go pear-shaped still, so keep your fingers and toes crossed...
Apparently after a few missed deadlines and a lot of headaches for mummy and daddy this week caused by our buyer we have finally 'exchanged' on our new house. I don't really know what that means but daddy has pulled out the 'Moving House' book again, and we went to the house with the bright pink bedroom in Tring today with tape measures and a list of questions to ask the owner. According to daddy we are moving a week on Tuesday....woo hoo!!
Pondering the big slide at a 'blowy' Northala fields
As you might imagine, the flat is a bit of a mess in preparation - lots of flat, empty cardboard boxes everywhere, and daddy keeps bringing rubbish down from the loft (just what is up there?!). We have also spent more time in furniture shops and the like (which Rosa and I generally don't mind). I think the excitement is getting to us because Rosa and I have been taking it in turns to get up super-early, although Rosa is largely to blame as I think she gets a kick out of getting up and knocking on mummy and daddy's door to be let in.
Climbing up the hill at Northala and going down the giant slide with sis
Other than that everything is groovy, and we've even had a bit of sunshine.
It's going to be a busy time in the next couple of weeks so might not write much.
It was a 'big' weekend according to daddy. We were off to Wembley, but unfortunately for daddy it was Ikea Wembley...
So many things to try out
I did get lost once, but I could usually be found hiding somewhere
Fortunately for daddy, over lunch he got a phone call from Oscar's daddy telling him he had a spare ticket for the cup final where daddy's team were playing Chelsea.
Daddy seems much happier than he was in Ikea
Judging by the result though I'm not sure why he bothered...
The rest of the weekend was spent dodging the rain....
At the funfair on Ealing Common
In my element on the trampolines...
...and Rosa too!
On Sunday we went to soft play (you have never seen so many people) where I bumped into Lola and her mummy and daddy - Lola was in Ealing Hospital SCBU when I was there (she is an ex-24 weeker) and her mummy recognised me and mummy, and it was nice of us all to say hello and share where we have got up to.
But there was also another special guest...
Oscar!
We went to a pub on the river after soft play and played spotting things out of the window
Oscar and his daddy outside the pub
Where's my croque monsieur?
We had a lovely day and of course the sun started to shine just as the bank holiday was finishing...
I recovered really quickly after my operation. We have been taking it easy and last Wednesday I was good enough to go back to nursery and see my friends.
Grandma and me do 'You'll never walk alone' for Disco Friday
Grandma Moira had come to stay to help look after things so we were able to have a good old boogie with her on the Friday night (a bit of a tradition in the Connelly household). We have lots of favourites, sometimes involving some silly moves. Daddy especially likes this one:
Bird is the word!
This Saturday with the rain seemingly never-ending, we went bowling in Acton, and of course Rosa and I loved it (dodgy shoes aside). Daddy was the winner but mummy accused him of a bit of cheating, so maybe I actually should have won.
A few warm up exercises can't harm my chances
That was a killer shot!
Watch and learn!
Apparently we really should be thinking about moving. Even though our buyer won't exchange until 2 weeks before we are supposed to be moving, there is more evidence that it will happen after daddy wrote a stroppy letter to the agent this week. Looking at the state of the flat someone better shake a leg around here!
We didn't get a brief about 'packing' the boxes
To be honest, we're probably best just staying in bed
We went to the shops in Westfield on Sunday. It meant we could have yet another round of babyccinos, well we deserved it after all the running 'round I like to think.
All went well you'll be pleased to know with the op at Great Ormond Street. We arrived very early on Wednesday morning and after I'd got over finding out that the ward had got rid of my favourite game (Fingerbox) I was soon down in the theatre. The surgeons did two things - looked down my trachea to check that everything had healed nicely from my big surgery last year (it had) and then they burnt my adenoids away.
I was a little upset to begin with when I woke up, but I was soon eating and drinking normally and everyone seems pleased with how things went. I stayed overnight so they could monitor me, but other than waking up a bit sore in the night I was comfortable and my 'sats' were pretty good. The doctors let me go mid-morning (after I'd thrown up on daddy's suit before he went to work) and I will see the consultant again in about 6 weeks to check all is ok. I'm not supposed to go to nursery for at least a week now while I recover as it would not be good to pick up any germs. It's nice to be home again (and with my new toy Henry the Hedgehog). Grandma Moira is here which is ace and she has been looking after Rosa whilst I've been in hospital.
Yet more 'goings on' with the house move. Last night it was confirmed that I can go to the school mummy and daddy wanted me to go to in Tring (a big shock as we all felt there was going to be a battle on our hands given we are still in Ealing, but we are all really pleased) - just the small matter of moving there now. But that has been tainted a little bit this morning by seeing that our buyer has said that he will not move to exchange until 2 weeks before the proposed completion date, leaving mummy and daddy feeling a bit in limbo again. I think that means its not a good thing.
Anyway, I can't worry too much, need to rest my aunty noids.
Another fun packed weekend with my sister to close the Easter holiday period. We went to the Carter's Steam Fair at Ravenscourt Park in Hammersmith on Saturday afternoon, where I was a lot less scared than last year to go on the rides. On Sunday we went to the Duck Pond market in Ruislip where we had hoped to pet some animals but they weren't there, so we had fun instead on the car ride and a very big bouncy castle, as well as a jig to some Irish music.
It was back to nursery for me today, but only for a couple of days as I am going in to hospital on Wednesday to have my adenoids out to help stop me coughing and getting lots of chest problems (although I have had a fairly good spell recently other than sounding like an 80 year old woman coughing every morning). I will only be in one day and one night, but then I am not allowed to go into nursery or any crowded places for a week or so to give me time to recover without the risk of picking up infections.
A sedate ride at the old-fashioned steam fair
..and another ride..
...oh yeah and another one
'Going for it' on the bouncy castle at the Duck Pond market (in cousin Maia's old coat which I really like)
Seriously, you expect Rosa and me to climb that???!??
OK I'm at the top now what??
I also watched my first Grand National on Saturday. It was funny because at the fair earlier in the day we stumbled across an old fashioned game, where I did not a bad job at getting my horse over the fence (better than daddy did at betting on the real race apparently).
Not a whip in sight
Wheeee!!!!
What's this? Me and Rosa transfixed for a moment....?
....and now you know why!
Still no more news on the house front. Our buyer is now playing games - he was angry about the possibility of exchanging so late and so we all agreed to 29th May but when we asked him to exchange he has refused to do so as he said it was too early - we subsequently found out he is still sorting out the paperwork around the freehold (which should never have been part of the deal). So we have to sit patiently and hope he gets that sorted soon....
I hope you all had a nice Easter break and the weather wasn't too disastrous. We went up to the Wirral to stay with Nana Marg and Grumpy Mike and had a lovely time. The first afternoon was gloriously sunny so grandad got the tent out so we could have some fun in the garden.
Fun in the tent at nan and grandads - I think Rosa would have preferred to finish her snack
On Friday we had a 'good' time as we went to Chester for the day with nana and grandad. It was a bit nippy, but we had fun in the big park there, went on a little train and had a pub lunch on the river before walking on the old walls (for a tiny bit anyway).
Double slide bonus!
Luckily I am small enough so you can't make out my tears
Looks like nan and grandad thought the pub on the river was a good call
Messing by the river with sis
Wind her up and watch her go!
'The clock' on the chester wall
A bit high up for my liking (I asked to get down to street level after this)
On saturday we went to Church Farm at Thurstaston to do an Easter egg hunt with the Kirkhams. We all had to take a tractor out to these woods were there were lots of clues on Easter eggs and if you solved them all you got to meet the Easter bunny (see previous blog photo) and got some chocolate. You also got to play some great little games on the way, and Henry Kirkham was pretty 'skill' at a few of them. Afterwards we could wander 'round and look at the animals. It was fab to see Henry and Charlie again!
The Kirkhams and us on the tractor (Rosa goes for 'mysterious' pose)
The answer to this clue was on the tip of Henry's tongue...
How we supposed to read this one, sis?
Hook a duck with Charlie and Henry
I think we nailed this game, Henry
Me and Henry pose at the colourful penguin
We kind of got on I felt

Henry's groovy moves
On Sunday we had a lazy day (we had been very good the night before with the grandparents as mummy and daddy went out in Heswall the night before), but we managed to do some egg-hunting in the house, and on Monday we came back down to London in the rain. We're still waiting for the house move to be tied down - it was getting very messy again before the weekend and mummy and daddy are on tenterhooks as our seller is due to leave the country for 5 or 6 weeks this week...
Me, I'm off nursery again all week, so I'll be getting up to more mischief.
See ya soon,
N xx
